I'm feeling stagnant. I realized today that I watch more TV than I want to. It really is the opiate for the masses. I've decided not to turn it on when I get home. That will force me to entertain myself in other ways. It will also help me make progress on the house. This weekend I want to get the thermostat installed and paint more. I'd also like to pay bills and get the paper filed.
Next week I'm back to the gym and serious about the diet. Week after next I want to step up the program and do yoga and weights. Week after that I want to hit spin at lunch too. Best laid plans and all, but I really want to shed this flab. It's buggin me.
I have to say... A weekend morning in bed with nothing you NEED to do is one of the happiest places on earth. One could get attached to this lifestyle.
I got my teeth cleaned yesterday. I was telling Corri that I was going and she said "For me, getting my teeth cleaned is like a massage." She must have excellent oral hygiene, because the closest massage that comes to mind is a deep tissue massage where the masseuse picks up your muscles, beats the tension out of them and puts them back. Even that sounds more pleasant than me getting my teeth cleaned. Don't get me wrong, I love my dentist. He's a great guy and does a great job, but massage? Even he laughed at the idea.
Cal's hosting Illinois today. I'm looking forward to the game. I'm going with Greg and Christine and Emile. It should be fun. I hear that Marshawn Lynch is out this game because of the finger he broke at Washington. O'Kieth should do well subbing for him. Anyway, I'm psyched. I'm ready to drink beer and screwdriver and lose my voice! GO BEARS!!!!!
woooow. I'm impressed that I remembered my blogger password. Cool cool cool. Now we'll see if the automation that gets the blog entries to my website work as well. That'd also be cool.
Things are good in my world today. I'm definitely in a Friday mood and it's only Thursday. I guess that's a bad omen for tomorrow. So much work to do. So little desire. C'est la vie.
The house is moving as slowly as ever. I have decided that if I don't want to freeze my butt off this winter I should get off of it and install my thermostat. It's getting to the point where it's consistently in the low 60's in my house, and I'd like it just a tad warmer. We'll work on the automation part later. For now I'll be happy with cold = on. Warm = off.
Of course there's always painting to be done. I've done most of a first coat of trim paint in the dining room. If things go especially well, I'll get the trim done this weekend too. Once my cracked rib finally heals (thanks ed) I'll be able to get down on the floor and paint the baseboards. Then it's on to the pink room (thank god).
I'm figuring that what I'll do for the floor repairs is pull up the affected boards in an area, and save them. I can cut the bad stuff out and use the shorter boards where I can. That'll save me wood, and hopefully preserve some of the texture. I need to take up a good piece of wood and take it to a flooring place to get matching lumber. I may end up buying a planer sooner rather than later if I have trouble matching the thickness. That'll be fun. Of course once the floor is all patched, it's time to move all of the stuff currently on wood into the garage, kitchen and sunroom, and sand and finish the floors. I can't wait for that to be done!!!! I want to move in and really start living in my house, not just keeping my things there.
I am hoping that I might get an influx of funds from dad's stuff. If I can get the money, I'd like to hire a contractor to replace the foundation, build a two car garage in the back yard, replace the driveway, sewer pipe, and walkway, and landscape the back yard. That'd be SOOOO awesome to have that stuff done. ESPECIALLY if I could have a workshop in the new garage. Awesome, Awesome AWESOME!!!!!
Siiigh. I guess I need to get some work done. Back to it.
